Wildlife Safari at Desert National Park – Jaisalmer

Rajasthan tourism has introduced wildlife safari at the Desert National Park, Jaisalmer. Hopefully the safari will be Starts from this week, the safari is going to help the tourists in enjoying the exotic wildlife species, living in the Thar Desert. This initiative has also been launched to boost the economy of the state.
In terms of area the Desert national park spread over an area of 3,000 square kilometers. Its landscape comprises of sharp rocks, rolling sand dunes, thick salt lake and a mix of all at some places. It is called home by a number of exotic animal and bird species in a vast variety including chinkara, black buck, sand grouse, desert fox and cat, desert gerbil, fringe-toed agama eagles and blue bull.
Desert National Park also houses one of the heaviest flying birds in the world, the endangered Great Indian Bustard. In the winter months, the park welcomes migratory birds like Eastern Imperial Eagle, Himalayan and Eurasian Griffon Vultures, and Saker Falcon etc.
An official informed that “This week, we will be start wildlife safari at the Desert National Park for tourists. the safari is being started where tourists will be able to see unique found only in dessert areas such as in Jaisalmer, Barmer and Bikaner,” said Anoop KR, Conservator of forest (wildlife), Jaisalmer district.


Fee :- Indians – INR – 500 (Per person along with the fare of safari vehicle) Foreigners – INR 1200 (Per person along with the fare of safari vehicle)


Camel & Jeep Safari

This camp was started in order to provide tourists with a real experience of Jaisalmer desert night.
